There’s one essential capacity you must master to achieve your goals: commitment.
Most people don’t fail because they lack talent, resources, or opportunity. They fail because they stop fully committing. They hesitate to invest the time, energy, discipline, and faith real change requires.
Commitment means doing what it takes—especially when it’s inconvenient, uncomfortable, or uncertain. Without it, goals remain nothing more than wishes.
The Belief Behind Commitment
At the heart of commitment lies belief—belief in yourself, in your vision, and in the possibility of change.
Yet many of us were shaped by parents, teachers, or coaches who had little tolerance for mistakes. Their criticism may have left scars that shaped your self-image.
If you still blame them, or haven’t forgiven them, then this blog isn’t for YOU.
“When you judge another, you do not define them; you define yourself.” — Wayne Dyer
When those authority figures judged you, they weren’t defining you—they were revealing their own fears.
If you continue replaying their voices, you stay trapped in the past, reliving the same predictable future.
The Choice: Stay Stuck or Create Your Future
Are you ready to be your own hero?
At the Nashville retreat, Dr. Joe Dispenza repeated this challenge:
“Be your own hero. Overcome yourself. Create your own future. Show up. The Divine always matches your energy.”
If you’re waiting for the right time, the right person, or the right conditions—you’re not creating.
I’ve been there. I’ve made excuses, saying, If only I had more help, more money, better circumstances...
That’s the wrong mindset.
“If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams and endeavors to live the life he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.”
— Henry David Thoreau
There is never a “perfect” moment to start. Experience is the best teacher. Keep showing up, and you’ll grow into the person worthy of your envisioned future.
Turning Intention into Action
It’s not enough to dream big—you must act.
In the Change Your Mind. Create New Results program, participants complete a 30-Day Genius Journal to practice living from their envisioned future. Each day they reflect on:
- My thoughts and feelings before mental rehearsal
- My meditation
- How I no longer want to think, act, and feel
- How I do want to think, act, and feel
- My thoughts and feelings after mental rehearsal
- How I will plan my day from my new state of being
That last section—Thoughts and Feelings After My Mental Rehearsal—is where change begins. It asks:
What will you do differently now that you’ve rehearsed your new self?
Commitment Creates Transformation
Change isn’t easy. It demands practice, patience, and unwavering commitment to your envisioned future. But once you’ve crossed that river—once you’ve truly changed—you can’t go back. You’ll know how to create your future again and again.
Change requires discomfort. It requires challenge.
My job as your coach is to challenge you.
Your job is to commit—to believe in your capacity to create the life you desire.
So, the real question is: Are you ready?

Growth demands Strategic Discipline.
Part of this message is about challenge.
At the Nashville retreat, Dr. Joe Dispenza reminded us, “Nobody is coming for you. You must be your own hero.”
True change begins only when we accept full responsibility for ourselves. It happens when we stop waiting for rescue and start doing the work.
In next week’s blog, we’ll explore how you respond to challenge—and why real transformation requires stepping into discomfort.
Building an enduring great organization requires disciplined people, disciplined thought, disciplined action, superior results, producing a distinctive impact on the world.
Discipline sustains momentum over a long period, laying the foundations for lasting endurance.
A winning habit begins with 3 Strategic Disciplines: Priority, Metrics, and Meeting Rhythms. Forecasting, accountability, individual, and team performance improve dramatically.
Meeting Rhythms achieve a disciplined focus on performance metrics to drive growth.
